This April in honor of Sexual Assault Awareness Month and Child Abuse Prevention Month, please join us for our second annual Child Safety Fair at Exploration Place! WASAC and the Child Advocacy Center of Sedgwick County have teamed up to bring you this fantastic FUN and FREE event! Families will have the chance to learn about vital community resources, play games and get crafty, meet local first responders, visit the Wichita Public Library Book Bus, and much more!

Protective Parenting Education (for parents, grandparents, foster parents, caregivers, teachers, school staff & volunteers, youth coordinators, religious leaders; all who interact with our children)
Our curriculum instructs adults in the areas of child sexual abuse and personal safety for children. The program also includes: background information on incest and child sexual abuse; offender characteristics; behavioral and physical indicators of sexual abuse; how to talk with various ages of children about personal safety; ideas on how to respond if a child discloses information; how to support the healing process should sexual abuse occur; how a parent can set a good foundation for children for when the time comes for them to be in relationships as older teens and adults.

Start your morning with coffee and conversation! As part of Sexual Assault Awareness Month, join an advocate from the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center at Coffee Daze to discuss the effects of sexual violence, available resources, and ways to support survivors.
☕ Coffee Daze is open from 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM, but our advocate will be available for discussion from 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM.
💙 Support survivors all day! A special teal drink will be available for purchase throughout the day, with proceeds helping to provide free services for survivors in our community. Stop by, ask questions, and help raise awareness!

Join us for our annual Take Back the Night community fair, rally, and march. Come learn about amazing resources in the community, show your support for survivors, and be a part of the solution to create safe streets and a culture of intolerance for sexual assault. #StillNotAskingForIt
From 7-8 PM, come out and talk to all of our community partners, take part in some fun activities and more!
At 8 PM, we will start the rally by hearing from incredible survivors in our community. At 8:20, we will start the march.

Join an advocate from the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center at Paranormal Cafe for a conversation about sexual violence, its impact on survivors, and ways to offer support. Whether you have questions about the criminal legal system or want to learn how to help, this is a great opportunity to engage over a cup of coffee.
☕ Paranormal Cafe is open from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM, but our advocate will be available from 8:30 AM – 10:30 AM for discussion.
