WASAC and the Wichita Family Crisis Center (WFCC) are excited to announce their new partnership to provide services to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault in Sumner and Cowley Counties, Kansas. Through new funding provided by the Kansas Governor’s Grants Program, these agencies will now be able to provide assistance with accessing safety planning, crisis counseling, medical advocacy, legal advocacy, assistance with crime victims compensation claims, and educational programs. Advocates are available 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. We plan to offer hotline and medical advocacy 24-hours a day soon. All services are free and confidential.
Offices will be established in Wellington and Winfield and open beginning on October, 9, 2017. These offices will be staffed full-time by one advocate from each agency (WFCC and WASAC). The advocates will also provide outreach to schools, law enforcement agencies, medical facilities, and the courts in each county. Angela Lampe, Executive Director of the Wichita Family Crisis Center said, “We are excited to be a part of this project, working alongside Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center, one of our long-standing community partners. Both of our agencies look forward to building more meaningful partnerships in both Cowley and Sumner Counties to best serve survivors”.
We encourage all victims of domestic and sexual violence to seek support and services. No one deserves to be abused. You are not alone.
