You might want to work with Allison if you’re a self-proclaimed overthinker, or you’ve experienced shame about your body and/or sexuality because of the sexual trauma you’ve experienced. Allison has been with the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center (WASAC) since 2018, and in the role of adult therapist since 2020. She received both her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Social Work from Wichita State University. Allison uses a person-centered and integrative approach to therapy – pulling ideas from many different modalities and perspectives, such as somatic experiencing, emotionally focused therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, narrative therapy, attachment theory, mindful self-compassion and inner child work. Allison facilitates an adult women survivor group at WASAC. When Allison is not at work, she’s going on walks, traveling, trying some new creative thing or reading a good book.
