Manda began her advocacy journey at the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center (WASAC) in 2023 as a hotline advocate, later transitioning to a full-time advocate position. She received her undergraduate degrees from Wichita State University and is pursuing her Master of Social Work(MSW).
Manda has a heart for serving others and deeply values the opportunity to advocate for and support survivors. She has a particular interest in working with those affected by religious trauma and exploring the intersectionality of sexual violence and purity culture. Providing trauma-informed advocacy and resources to survivors is not just a job for her; it’s a calling rooted in empathy and a commitment to serving those who have endured unimaginable trauma. Manda strives to ensure her clients feel safe, heard, and advocated for. She believes there is no “one way” to work with someone and utilizes a survivor-led, curious, and collaborative advocacy style, ensuring that each survivor’s unique needs and experiences are at the forefront of her work.
When she’s not at work, Manda views nature as her playground. She is often outside, whether she’s getting her hands dirty in her garden, nurturing her many plants, or diving into her latest mycology research project. She considers herself a lifelong learner and enjoys exploring and traveling with her partner. At home, you can find her snuggling her two cats, typically creating art, or curled up with a book.
