Job Title: Hotline Advocate (Part-Time)

Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable Hotline Advocate to join our team in a part-time, on-call capacity. This position plays a vital role in maintaining WASAC’s 24-hour crisis response line, offering immediate support and advocacy to survivors of sexual violence and their loved ones—primarily by phone and in-person at local hospitals.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to calls during assigned shifts on the 24-hour crisis hotline
  • Provide trauma-informed, non-judgmental support to survivors and their support systems
  • Respond in-person to area hospitals within 30 minutes for advocacy during forensic exams
  • Offer information about victims’ rights, resources, and referrals to community services
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with hospital staff and law enforcement
  • Submit timely documentation and attend scheduled supervision and training when available
Qualifications:
  • Experience working with survivors of sexual violence preferred
  • Strong communication and crisis intervention skills
  • Ability to work independently, maintain confidentiality, and respond calmly in urgent situations
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to respond to in-person calls promptly
  • Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply

  • Provide court advocacy, assist survivors in navigating the criminal legal system providing emotional support and resources.
  • Provide medical advocacy, supporting survivors in medical settings.
  • Facilitate educational programs for children and adults.
  • Conduct community outreach to raise awareness of sexual violence and available resources.
  • Collaborate with community partners to enhance service accessibility.
Qualifications:
  • Experience in advocacy work or a related field preferred.
  • Strong public speaking skills and comfort in presenting to diverse audiences.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations with professionalism and empathy.
  • Commitment to supporting survivors and promoting awareness of sexual violence.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
